Breaking Ground on the Future of Homewood
Construction has started on the Homewood Gondola.
Construction begins!
Our team recently had the opportunity to connect with members of our community as they picked up their chairs from the Madden Chair Auction.
This was a great moment of reflection for our team as we rehashed the memories these chairs bring to the many families that have shaped this mountain over the years.
We’re grateful to share a piece of Homewood’s history with the people who make it so special. Not only are we excited to see that the legacy live on in your hearts and homes – a portion of the proceeds will benefit the local community through a donation to Sierra Community House.
As the last chairs left our parking lot, we began construction on the new Homewood Gondola! This is just the first piece of a significant investment in the future of Homewood bringing major improvements across the mountain.
Currently, we are excavating and installing foundation materials for the top and bottom terminals, and gondola towers and we have started to remove the lift towers from the Madden Chair.
What does this mean for the Community?
With active construction taking place across the property, the safety of our community members and crews are a top priority – all trails, access roads, and on mountain areas will remain closed for the summer. We appreciate your cooperation in respecting all closures. Together we can ensure the safety and success of this project.
We’ll continue to provide updates at skihomewood.com throughout the project. Bookmark skihomewood.com/projectupdates for the latest news.
See skihomewood.com/future for more information about the Master Plan.
