How Homewood Supports Excellence in Education
Find out how purchasing a lift ticket can support education programs for local youth in the Truckee Tahoe region.
Excellence in Education Ski for Schools Program
Homewood Mountain Resort has been a proud supporter of Excellence in Education Foundation’s Skiing for Schools program for the past several years. Each year we donate hundreds of lift tickets, which are sold at a discounted rate at some of our favorite local shops: Tahoe Dave’s, Alpenglow Sports and Pacos!
All proceeds from the sale of these tickets go directly to support the Excellence in Education Foundation, funding classroom grants, outdoor learning, teacher innovation, and programs across TTUSD schools.
Check out some of the cool projects these funds have helped support

A New Router for Gone Boarding
A new CNC router—funded by an Excellence in Education grant—is expanding what’s possible in Truckee High School’s Gone Boarding CTE class! Students can boost production of the 150+ snowboards, skis, skateboards, surfboards, and paddleboards they create each year.
Bunkbeds For The New Outdoor School in Homewood (Old Rideout Site)
The forest is the classroom at the new TAHOE Lab & Outdoor School! Thanks to an Excellence in Education grant, students can rest easy in cozy bunk beds after a day of hands-on, nature-based learning. One student shared, “I love staying at Outdoor School—it’s cool to connect with kids from other schools while being in nature!”
