How to Play:

If you can throw a 1 pound bag of corn 30 feet, then you can play Cornhole! The Homewood Cornhole League is Lake Tahoe’s official and only league dedicated specifically to the game of Cornhole. The league is always open to new members of all skill levels who enjoy the game of Cornhole and enjoy socializing with other Lake Tahoe residents. The league takes place every Monday night from July 13 to August 31, culminating in a tournament to determine the league champions.

Whether you’re a serious competitor, looking to make new friends or just a fan of socializing, the Lake Tahoe League is the best place to be on Monday nights! Homewood supplies the equipment, location, and bar specials. All you need is to bring a few teammates and be ready to have a great time!

The Rules:

The rules are simple: Have Fun. Be Honest. Don’t Ever Call it Bean Bag Toss! Bags filled with corn kernals are tossed at boards called cornhole platforms with holes in them.  Get the bag in the hole and you get 3 points; hit the board with the bag and get 1 point.  Typically made up of two to four players, the first team to score 21 points wins that round.

The History:

Where did Cornhole come from?  Supposedly the game originated in Germany in the 14th century and was then was rediscovered in the hills of Kentucky over 100 years ago.  Truth is, who knows, but the game is fun for all ages and can be played anywhere. The game is generally played tournament style with an individual or team being named the champion at the end of the tournament.
