I love yoga and I am so blessed to share this practice with the world. In the last 18 years of practice and 10 years of teaching I have learned so much about myself and have found this life is all one big journey of Self Love. I love to rock climb, ski, hike, run and be outside. Most of all I love bringing community together to help facilitate the opening of hearts so we experience deeper connection and as a result live life more fully. I have studied with master teachers for the last 10 years with over 1000 hours of Teacher Training. I am passionate about teaching alignment to help students connect to their bodies, mind and heart. I bring together fellow healers to teach workshops and retreats with me in Tahoe and around the world. I love facilitating connection in a group and making people feel that they are loved and they belong. It is a great joy of mine to see transformation happen in an individual when they are given support and accountability. I feel so blessed to love what I do. I have been privileged to teach yoga in the schools from little ones to high schoolers, to new parents and parents with their children, to teachers and big group conferences. I have been honored to teach yoga adventure trips as far as Chile and Wanderlust right here in Squaw Valley.
Hanni began her yoga journey in 2006 when she moved to Lake Tahoe. Her yoga experience includes Vinyasa Flow, Anusara, Kripalu, Forrest, Iyengar and Ashtanga techniques. Hanni enjoys incorporating aspects she has learned from each of her teachers to create a unique Vinyasa Flow. Her classes combine breath, movement, and music while also creating awareness of body alignment. Upon completion of her 300-hour yoga teacher training in Bali, Indonesia, in 2011, Hanni began teaching Vibrant Vinyasa flow classes in her hometown of Homer, Alaska. Recently, she returned to Tahoe City and began to teach at Studio Tahoe and Tahoe Yoga Institute. Hanni is excited to share her knowledge of yoga with the community. Every day is an adventure and challenge with new opportunities and yoga brings it all together.
Jenna's playful alignment based Vinyasa classes have been inspired by the teachings of Ashtanga, Anusara, Vinyasa, Iyengar, and Restorative. The utilization of appropriate adjustments are influenced by her extensive experience as a bodyworker, forming her classes into a balance of moving from the heart while honoring the physical "container." Jenna completed her training with Nikki Estrada through YogaWorks and continues to expand her knowledge with frequent workshops.
Jenna will be teaching alignment based Vinyasa. Vinyasa, having many translations such as ‘to move with the breath’ and ‘to place in a special way’ is used as a tool to warm up the body, increasing circulation and synovial fluid in the joints. When the body is warm, we are able to move deeper into each pose, feeling specific alignment adjustments initiated by the breath. The use of off-the-mat principals are utilized throughout this class, inviting the student to find deeper meaning of Asana practice.
Jonathan Van Roo
Jonathan will be teaching vinyasa flow classes that are focused on increasing personal power through core based poses.
Jonathan co-owns Tahoe Mountain Martial Arts and Yoga. Having developed a lifelong love of learning and teaching, Jon started studying martial arts at 9 years old and was teaching 4-6 classes a week by the time he earned his Black Belt at the age of 15. Jon’s martial arts background gave him a disciplined, focused foundation for all other sports. Jon has taught martial arts for several years to all different ages. Skiing and a thirst for knowledge brought Jon to college in California where he competed on a nationally ranked ski team at Sierra College, placing 1st in state in 2003 and 2004 and 4th in the nation in 2004. For the last seven years Jon has coached for the Sugar Bowl Ski Team. He also designed and wrote the Development Freeride Program for Sugar Bowl and has lead this program for the last four years as the Head Development Freeride Coach. After battling back from various injuries Jon’s healing path led him to yoga. It was an immediate addiction, transforming into a passion that led Jon to complete his Yoga Alliance RYT 200 in Hood River, Oregon. Jon has studied with Stephanie Adams and is continuing to study The Raja Yoga path with his spiritual teacher Adi Vajra Marino. Jon teaches core based styles of Vinyasa flow and enjoys all types of Yoga and Karate. He has created his own kids yoga program called Lil’ Warriors. This class is a combination of martial arts, breath work and yoga, which also includes games and a whole lot of fun. If interested in this program or to schedule a private lesson, please use the contact page or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
