Homewood Super Sliders

The Super Sliders program is for families looking for flexibility and is operated in conjunction with the Children's Ski and Snowboard School. Emphasizing skill development in a safe and fun environment, Super Sliders also serves as a building block for the Development Team. The program is offered with Full Day and Half-Day options.

All Super Sliders Programs include a season pass. If a Child Season Pass has already been purchased, a $99 discount will be applied to the cost of the Super Sliders Program.

Homewood Devos

The Devos Program takes kids to another level of skiing, safety and fun. This season long non-competitive program is taught by educated and caring coaches who allow children to become strong, balanced and safe atheletes that love to ski. The goal is to allow children to excel at their own levels of comfort while providing opportunities for individual growth through increaed skill development and skiing a number of miles on a variety of terrain. The groups are small for strong interaction between coaches and skiers. Participation in two in-house Shredders events is encouraged.

Homewood Development Teams

This program is designed to improve skiing skills and move into the next level of high performace skiing and racing. In addition to all-mountain skiing, participants will receive an introduction to racing with gate training. Additional gate training and race coaching is available for those that have moved to the next level of competition. Participation in the Tahoe League is encouraged.**

Minimum Requirements: Team members must be independent and able to ski the entire mountain in most conditions. Minimum of 5 sign-ups needed. *Lunch not included in price. **Note: There is an additional fee of $40 per race for 7-9 year olds who wish to attend Tahoe League races. There is a minimum of 4 athletes required for coach to attend races.

Homewood Ski Race Team (Competitive)

Athletes will improve their ski racing skills through technical analysis and drills, with gate-training as a regular activity. Athletes will also participate in the Tahoe League Race Series. Team members will train with the same coach throughout the season and the coach will attend TL races with athletes. (Note: Minimum of 4 athletes required for coach to attend races. Additional fees associated wiht Tahoe League Race not included.)

Homewood Freestyle/Freeride Team (Competitive)

This program will improve your child's all-mountain abilities, including big mountain, steeps, powder, crud, bumps, jumps, terrain park, skier cross, and any other adventurous terrain they can find. Athletes will participate in several competitions with other local mountains. Coaching at local freeride/freestyle events is included.

Homewood Snowboard Team (Competitive)

This program is designed for kids looking to improve their technique, increase confidence and compete. This innovative snowboard-specific conditioning and instruction program includes a wide variety of training. Our excellent and enthusiastic coaching staff will help perfect your child’s technique by using basic movement analysis that will help progression in every aspect of snowboarding. (Note: Minimum of 4 athletes required for coach to attend races. Additional fees associated with competitions not included.)

Team Coach Profiles:

DeeDee Driller - Head Coach:

DeeDee is a long-time coach and our fearless leader for the Teams programs. She has been coaching and manageing ski teams for over 30 years, and holds the following credentials: Previous member of the US Ski Team, University of Vermont Ski Team, BS in Recreation Management, Level1 PSIA instructor, Level 1 USSA Coach, Level 1 Avalanche, CPR/First Aid, and has lived in Lake Tahoe since 1984. Kristopher Kirkpatrick:

Born in San Francisco, Calif., Kristopher spent his childhood in the country side outside of Florence, Italy. He began skiing the Swiss Alps at age 3, and was instantly hooked. Following his return to the States, Kristopher attended Seton Hill University on a Tennis scholarship, and later graduated from Chapman University. Post graduation, with a Bachelors Degree in Communications emphasizing in International Business with a minor in children's education, he worked in corporate finance for the lending arm of a national bank. Kristopher moved back to the mountains of Tahoe to rekindle his love of mountain sports, but can also be found in the ocean surfing, kayaking, and sailing.

Martin Gibson:

Martin was born and raised in Stockton, CA, but every summer, winter, and even the occasional weekend was spent here on the West Shore. He learned to ski at Homewood when he was four-years-old and has been part of our family ever since. Martin recently graduated from UC Berkeley with a bachelors degree in English literature and is certified in CPR and first aid. In the summer he instructs sailing but in the winter there is hardly a day that he isn't on the mountain.

David ZwickDavid Zwick:

PSIA certified Level 2 Alpine and Level 1 Nordic, Level 1 Avalanche. David started skiing at age 3 in New England, entered his first race at 5 and won gold. He has been teaching skiing since he was 17 and has taught Alpine in Colorado, Vermont, Connecticut and Nordic at Northstar-at-Tahoe. David is an engineer by trade and has worked much in the Silicon Valley area. Other multiple hobbies include hocky, surfing, windsurfing, motocross, Alpine, Nordic and backcountry skiing, photography, fly fishing, mountaineering and mountain biking.
