Already known for the panoramic views of Lake Tahoe, Homewood Mountain Resort recently launched the Big Blue View Bar. The new bar is located mid-mountain under the Madden chairlift and boasts an elevation of over 7100 feet and incredible views of Tahoe.

Referred to as the “BBVB” by locals and featuring 50 bright blue Adirondack chairs, the new bar and grill has become a ritual meeting place on the mountain to grab a drink, take in the view, and relax. Each weekend, the outdoor bar hosts a live DJ or musician, providing a celebratory vibe to accompany the beach-like setting.
The bar and grill is operating Friday through Sunday, weather permitting, with live music and DJs each weekend. Homewood recently threw a grand opening party for the Big Blue View Bar and entertained hundreds of smiling skiers and snowboarders who basked in the sunny weather. Al Saracevic, author of the SlopeDope blog for the San Francisco Chronicle, attended the party and wrote “the Homewoodians outdid themselves by grading the area in front of the mid-mountain tent lodge into multiple platforms and putting out a few dozen, bright blue Adirondack chairs so people could enjoy the best view on the lake. Throw in a DJ and some grilled bratwursts, and we’re confident in saying it was the place to be.”
